Room Filled with Light and Color
In Palm Beach, in the home of architect Campion Platt, the living room dances with light and color.

The contemporary styled room, which uses a warm and energizing color palette of berry tones mixed with a variety of oranges, has a particularly crisp and clean look. In addition to the limited color palette, limiting the number of patterned elements and keeping the colors in most of the patterns monochromatic adds to that crisp and clean look. The sofa and club chairs, designed by Platt, all in white fabric, add to the effect. (The cleanly designed all-white fireplace set against an expanse of mirror plays its part as well.)
The color in the traditionally patterned rug is repeated in the ethnic pattern of the ikat pillow. That little touch of the ethnic, in this very contemporary space, adds a note of interest. I decided to search out pillows using ikat patterned fabric in one color combined with white. I found it much easier to find multicolored ikat patterns, but I persisted and came up with few selections. So, for those interested in ikat fabrics, you’ll find my ‘finds’ below.
Focus on Ikat
Ikat fabric, which has global origins, recently gained in popularity as interest increased for ethnic and global looks both in fashion and interior decorating.
I found ready-made accent pillows in ikat patterns that use a single color with white at the following two online sources.
